We are Nesivos, The Way Forward

In year 2000 Rabbi Binyamin Greenspoon LCSW and Rabbi Yeshi Ghoori had the foresight to recognize that an all-encompassing mental health center would be needed in order to tackle the growing needs of our communities. They had previously worked as enthusiasts creating summer programs, to keep youth busy and productive during the extended summer days off. They found that there were many struggling children in yeshiva and out of yeshiva, and that it was of upmost importance to address this growing concern. They founded a Yeshiva in 2001 to provide these children with a place where they feel accepted, and to create an environment conducive for growth.

R’ Greenspoon recognized that in order to truly understand their struggles and to provide enduring solutions, he would need to attend schooling to become a mental health professional. R’ Greenspoon received his Master’s in 2005 and quickly became recognized as a leader in the mental health arena. As he worked with our community children, he discerned that in addition to the children needing professional help, there needed to be collaboration between schools, parents and mentors, in order to provide an all-encompassing therapeutic environment for the client. Additionally, parents as well required guidance, and a professional who they can speak with, to gain clarity, and a better understanding of what their child’s struggles are.
